Your Comfort & Dignity Matter
Our aim is to create a safe, respectful and supportive environment for every patient. Whether you are attending a consultation, undergoing a procedure, or having a medical examination, your emotional wellbeing and physical privacy are always a priority. That’s why we offer the option of a trained chaperone for any part of your care where you would like additional reassurance. You are welcome to request a chaperone at any time — simply let us know when booking your appointment or mention it to your clinician.
When Can I Request One?
A chaperone is a trained member of our clinical or non-clinical team who is present during your appointment to:

-
Provide comfort and reassurance.
-
Support your dignity during physical or intimate procedures.
-
Assist the clinician when appropriate.
-
Act as a witness for both you and the clinician.
Chaperones are commonly requested during physical or intimate examinations, or when a procedure may involve undressing. However, you can ask for a chaperone whenever you feel unsure, anxious or would prefer additional support.
If a suitable chaperone is not available at the time, we may offer to reschedule your appointment.
Your Rights & Choices
We understand that preferences vary and that trust is key. You are not required to have a chaperone and may choose to attend your appointment alone, or with a friend or family member instead. This decision will always be respected.
If you do request a chaperone, they will:
-
Explain their role and ask for your consent to be present.
-
Respect your privacy and confidentiality.
-
Remain sensitive and professional throughout.
You also have the right to ask for a same-sex chaperone or clinician, pause or stop an examination at any time, or request a different practitioner if needed.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss the chaperone process in more detail, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
