Microneedling With Calecim® In Worcester

Healthy, youthful-looking skin relies heavily on collagen, elastin and effective skin renewal. As we age, these natural repair processes begin to slow down, which can lead to dullness, fine lines, uneven texture, enlarged pores and reduced firmness. At our Worcester clinic, our microneedling treatments are combined with Calecim® Professional Serum to improve skin quality in a natural-looking way. This combination is designed to stimulate collagen production while also supporting skin recovery, hydration and rejuvenation.

Microneedling is a minimally invasive skin treatment that uses very fine sterile needles to create controlled micro-injuries within the skin. These tiny channels stimulate the body’s natural repair processes, encouraging the production of fresh collagen and elastin. At the same time, the channels created during treatment allow active skincare ingredients to penetrate more effectively into the skin. The treatment is commonly used to improve skin texture, firmness and overall radiance while softening certain signs of ageing and skin damage.

What Is Calecim®?

A professional regenerative skincare treatment containing growth factors, cytokines and proteins derived from ethically sourced stem cell technology. It is designed to support skin healing and regeneration following procedures such as microneedling. When applied during treatment, Calecim® may help reduce recovery time while enhancing hydration, skin quality and collagen stimulation.

At Dr Julia Sen’s Worcester clinic, microneedling is paired with Calecim® as part of a more comprehensive skin rejuvenation approach.

What Can Microneedling Help Treat?

Fine lines and wrinkles • Uneven skin texture • Enlarged pores • Mild acne scarring • Sun-damaged skin • Dull or tired-looking skin • Mild skin laxity • Creping skin around the eyes or neck.

The aim is healthier, fresher-looking skin rather than dramatic or artificial change.

What Happens During Treatment?

Your consultation begins with a detailed skin assessment to determine whether microneedling is suitable for your skin type and concerns. During the procedure, a medical-grade microneedling device is passed across the skin to create controlled microchannels.

Calecim® serum is then applied to support regeneration and recovery. A topical numbing cream may be used beforehand to improve comfort during treatment. Treatment times vary depending on the area being treated but typically last between 45 and 60 minutes.

What Is the Downtime?

Most patients experience temporary redness and mild sensitivity afterwards, similar to mild sunburn. The skin may feel warm, tight or slightly dry for a few days. Recovery is generally straightforward, and many patients return to normal daily activities within 24 hours, although some redness may persist slightly longer depending on skin sensitivity.

Dr Julia Sen will provide detailed aftercare advice to help protect and support the skin during the healing process.

When Will I See Results?

Some patients notice brighter, fresher-looking skin within a few weeks, but collagen remodelling takes time. Improvements in texture and firmness continue to develop gradually over several weeks and months. A course of treatments is often recommended for optimal results, particularly when treating acne scarring or more established signs of ageing.

Who Is Microneedling Suitable For?

Microneedling can be suitable for many skin types and is often chosen by patients looking for a minimally invasive treatment with little downtime. It may be appropriate for those who want to:

Improve overall skin quality Address early signs of ageing • Refresh dull or tired-looking skin Improve mild scarring or texture concerns Stimulate collagen naturally without surgery.

Certain skin conditions or active inflammation may make treatment unsuitable, which is why a professional consultation is important before proceeding.
